MOTIVA

The aim of this project was to support homeless people, young people from low-income areas and immigrants with a view that 'mixing up' these groups will have positive impact for the individuals involved and for the outcome of the work within the group.

Key elements of the delivery plan included:

  • develop links and coordination between all actors and areas including actions related to: gender and equality of opportunities; labour intermediation with employers; technical and logistical support of the regional government; and the support and involvement of a local municipality faced with the creation of social enterprises in its territory
  • provide two key support areas: activation and employment
  • address the activation of clients taking advantage of their existing motivations and using relationships as a tool to increase self-esteem and desire or motivation towards improvement of quality of life.
  • provide a support system with volunteers that accompany the clients through their process of integration.
  • provide training in such areas as ICT skills.
  • create two social enterprises in a local municipality outside of Madrid, based on kennels and gardening services.
  • Help in job search processes by providing advise and searching for job opportunities through an employment agency.
